What is Lexi’s Letter?

Lexi’s Letter was written by Lexi in December 2024, after nine months of living in hospital.

Lexi’s Letter was first shared with people involved in her care at Newcastle Hospitals NHS Trust. Their initial encouragement and feedback prompted Lexi’s plan to create something which would make hospital treatment better for all young people.

In Spring 2025 Lexi starting working with Touch Design, from her hospital room, to create this animated version of her letter.

Lexi’s Family

Lexi died (aged 14) in September 2025.

Lexi’s parents, Andy and Liz and her younger sister Ella took on the project on her behalf, ensuring that her message continues to be spread.

Andy, Liz and Ella have all been inspired by Lexi to write advice to healthcare professionals from their own experiences which can be seen in the Resources section.
